BOY SCOUT AVIATION MERIT BADGE
The Museum of Aviation proudly offers the Aviation Merit Badge program for Boy Scouts, which meets the Scout Merit Badge Handbook guidelines. Program features aeronautical principles, aircraft preflight, navigation, math, science, and flight simulators. Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm. Minimum of 10 scouts are required. Must be age 12 and up. Webelos are not included in this program. Program is $15 per scout. Girl Scouts can also schedule this Aviation Flight Sim program.
CUB SCOUTS and WEBELOS
Explore World History at the Museum of Aviation. The Guided Tour is a wonderful experience for your Cub Scout and Webelo Troops. The Scouts will learn about our world history through the exhibits and aircraft. The Scouts will also go inside the C-130 “Hercules” airplane for an inside-an-aircraft experience. Guided Tours last approximately 1 ½ hours. Cost is $3 per scout and there is a minimum of 10 scouts. Cub Scouts can also schedule this history-based guided tour program.
BROWNIE GIRL SCOUTS “CELEBRATING COMMUNITY” BADGE WORKSHOP
The purpose of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for Brownie Girl Scouts to complete a portion of the requirements for the Badge and is approximately 2.5 hours long. The minimum number of Girl Scouts is 10 and the maximum is 30. The cost of the program is $10 per Girl Scout. Girl Scouts celebrate our community by visiting the “Museum of Aviation” where World History comes alive through our exhibits and aircraft. The Girl Scouts go inside of the C-130 Airplane. Girl Scouts will explore the life of Robert L. Scott, a WWII Veteran and our hometown hero.
JUNIOR GIRL SCOUTS “DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY” BADGE WORKSHOP
The purpose of this badge workshop is to provide an opportunity for Junior Girl Scouts to complete a portion of the requirements for the Badge. The workshop is approximately 2.5 hours at $10 per scout. Minimum number of Girl Scouts is 10 and the maximum is 20. Girl scouts will select a subject from the Museum of Aviation’s aircraft and exhibits and photograph the subject from different perspectives. Girl Scouts will edit photos and save them to a compact disc to take home.
SENIOR GIRL SCOUTS “WEBSITE DESIGNER” BADGE WORKSHOP
The purpose of this badge workshop is to provide an opportunity for Senior Girl Scouts to complete a portion of the requirements for the Badge as they learn the fundamentals of building a website. Workshop is approximately 2.5 hours long at $10 per scout. Minimum number of Girl Scouts is 10 and maximum is 20. They will learn how to link to other websites, how SEO affects Google traffic, and how to do website design. Girl Scouts will be able to begin building their “Generations of Women” website at the Museum of Aviation and finish it at their own pace at home.
